Wedding Cakes

• Never but never use plumosa greenery on a wedding cake, as most of your guests will have a tiny piece of greenery in every bite.  This greenery is beautiful in wedding bouquets but seems to shied when used on wedding cakes.
  
• If using fresh flowers on your wedding cake, be sure to have cake delivered early enough to allow florist to decorate.  Larger cakes can take as long as an hour to place each petal correctly.  
  
• Many cakes are sold by the guest number you expect.  Explain to servers how large to cut each slice as you do not want to come up short. 
  
• There are many ways to decorate a cake with flowers.  Some will make large corsage type arrangements which take a great deal of time but are easy to place on each cake when delivered.  Another way is to clip greenery and flowers directly before the wedding and placing on table surrounding cake and on top.

This cake was decorated with three tiers of roses and baby's breath wired into long corsage pieces and placed allowing roses to flow over the edge.  The flowers on the bottom of the cake was clipped and place directly around cake.  (Greenery is laid on table, roses then baby's breath placed last.)

Cake top was placed into cake.  Remaining flowers have been placed onto the cake before wedding.
