redcorsage2.jpg (44648 bytes)redcorsage1.jpg (45414 bytes)Start your corsage by breaking top of flower off of the stem, then cross-piercing with wire.  (cross-piercing is a method used to support heavy blossoms.  Two wires are inserted perpendicularly through the calyx and bent down parallel to the stem)

redcorsage3.jpg (57100 bytes)Now lay floral tape at top of calyx, then pull around and strength tape in one hand as you twist flower in the other hand.

redcorsage5.jpg (56587 bytes)redcorsage4.jpg (96691 bytes)You put baby's breath then leather leaf  next to carnation.  Tape to calyx as shown above.

Repeat these steps when using more than one flower.  In my corsage I am using two carnations.

redcorsage6.jpg (76762 bytes)redcorsage7.jpg (80396 bytes)Stair step flowers and tape together.  This is an important part, as without the stair step, the corsage will look too wide.

You start by cross piercing flowers like the previous corsage example.  This time, cut your wire longer to provide a stem.

nobowcorsage1.jpg (74188 bytes)When wiring daisies, you will want to create a small hook to pull into top of flower instead of cross piercing.  These type of flowers do not have a calyx long enough to cross pierce.

nobowcorsage2.jpg (92543 bytes)On wax flower I lay wire next to stem and tape.

nobowcorsage3.jpg (79028 bytes)I use one wire instead of two on my Alstroemaria blooms as the calyx is so delicate two are not necessary.

nobowcorsage4.jpg (48465 bytes)nobowcorsage5.jpg (105891 bytes) Next is the fun and easy part.  Lace your finished flowers into a taped stem of scheffelera (Many people have these plants in their homes.  Just snip a stem from one.)
